Developed by pharmacist John J. McLaughlin, this caffeine free soda originates from Canada,. In 1890 he opened a plant which produced carbonated water for drugstores as a mixer for syrups and fruit juices. At the same time he developed a recipe of his favourite soda, Belfast Style Ginger Ale, and started selling it himself. After many attempts to improve his recipe he found the perfect result in 1904, which he gave the name Canada Dry Pale Ginger Ale. A soda that was less syrupy and lighter than the regular ginger ales. The ‘Dry’ in the name refers to the less sweet taste, as in dry wine. Because of its light colour Canada Dry Ginger Ale is also known as the ‘champagne of ginger ales’. Canada Dry is considered as the best brand of ginger ale in America. Canada Dry Ginger Ale contains 100 percent natural flavours and is made with real ginger. Thanks to its pleasant taste Canada Dry Ginger Ale is also perfect for mixes and cocktails.
